The appeal of using a graphic tablet spans as far as between the classroom to a multitude of sectors within the design industry. Use of a tablet has been praised for its ease-of use and is especially popular with users who suffer with wrist/joint pain on a regular basis.
In contrast to using a traditional mouse, which is moved with the larger muscles of the forearms, the stylus pen is moved using smaller muscles in the fingers and wrist. By using the stylus pen, the user carries out more fine motor activities in stylus operation, decreasing pressure and strain to the wrist.
As well as possessing health benefits, the use of a tablet is ideal for illustrations, drawings, industrial or web design and photo editing. Due to its ability to zoom-in on minute details, digital-drawings becomes improved over time and thanks to its excellent handwriting recognition, users are able to add personal touches to documents such as signatures and hand-written notes.
Activities such as operating system or multi-media PC controls, as well as applications for photo and graphics editing, DTP, CAD/CAM or presentation programs can be executed very comfortably with the graphics tablet. To send data, the tip of the wireless pointing-stylus is moved on the tablet, pressing the stylus and key on the tablet. The movement data acquired this way is then quickly transferred to the graphics tablet onto the computer.
